Protection & Controls Relay Engineer

Overview:

Insight Global's leading energy and utility client is seeking to hire a Protection and Controls Relay Engineer to work within their Transmission and Distrobution group. This company services the regions of Dayton, OH and surrounding areas for residential and commercial power and lights. The transmission and distrobution group commissions, designs, and maintains all infrastructure of the electrical grid, and the protection and control relay team services that grid ensuring things are safe, reliable, and functioning correctly. This is a self-paced and collaborative environment as you develop and design the relay settings for the transmission and distribution operations.



Day to Day:

* Reporting to Manager of Protection and Controls Engineering, being assigned projects and doing weekly update/report meetings

* Devloping plans for transmission and distrobution relays which support high and low voltage power systems.

* Testing and troubleshooting relays on new and existing assets

Must Haves:

* Electrical engineering degree and relevant experience working in the industry of energy and utilities supporting transmission, distrobution, or substations

* Short circuit modeling experience working in the programs of ETAP, SKM, CAPE, or ASPEN



Plusses:

* A candidate with knowledge or experience on SEL acSELerator, SEL Accelerator (relay software)

* Anything SEL on resume, chances are if they have this, good sign they're a good fit
