Job Description
The Project Engineer works in partnership with the Project Manager and leads the engineering work process for delivery of projects. Project Engineers will support project development efforts during the sales phase and ensure a smooth technical transition to delivery. They are responsible to ensure all project requirements are clearly documented and communicated to all project stakeholders through the creation of design basis document, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Reporting to the Manager of Project & Process Engineering, this role is also responsible for ensuring the project follows the Workflow for stage gates and reviews. As part of these duties, forecasting of work hours to completion and managing adherence to schedule are critical for project success.
• Create and manage changes to the project definition documents including the design basis, PFD, P&IDs and equipment specifications.
• Lead coordination of engineering effort on the project and communication between process, mechanical, and automation engineering and external coordination with vendors and engineering firms.
• Manage workflow to comply with BlastOne design process, review gates and procedures
• Ensure design complies with industrial codes and regulations
• Forecast engineering labor for assigned projects and manage work to achieve schedule
• Follow a structured approach to issue tracking and resolution.
• Contribute to resolution of difficult engineering issues.
• Support hazard assessments and hazard mitigation.
• Work Package Management (in house and outsourcing scope of work generation and work product review)
• Contribute to continuous improvement (CI) of engineering processes

Required Skills & Experience
Solidworks. Preconfiguration of projects is a key step the PE is responsible for. I do not see this explicitly in either resume, but wanted to mention this in case this is something they elected to leave off for brevity. Let me know if either have significant competence in 3D design activities.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering
• 8+ Yrs of relevant experience
• Technical project management experience
• Design and layout of production systems in manufacturing environment
• Experience with creating technical project definition documents
• Experience in reading, digesting, and applying industry codes and standards to establish requirements for standard products and/or projects.
• Experience in compliance with customer specifications (requirements management).
• Good understanding of mechanical, electrical and control systems used for industrial manufacturing.
• Basic understanding of industrial ventilation systems (specification and application of heat recovery units, air handling units, air makeup units (industrial air conditioners), dust collectors is a plus
• Basic understanding of hazardous area classifications and associated electrical certification implications.
• Basic understanding of industrial and OSHA safety requirements
