The Absence Specialist at NetJets supports employees through basic leave of absence requests by setting up leave types, answering questions, and assisting employees before, during, and after their leave. This role manages a high‑volume, front‑line inbox and case load, opening and tracking 50–70 new cases per week and handling up to 2,000–3,000 emails weekly in Outlook shared inboxes. The specialist partners closely with HR and compliance teams to ensure accurate leave administration, clear communication, and timely resolution of employee inquiries via email and phone. Daily work is task‑driven through the LOA system, requiring strong organization, attention to detail, and comfort operating in a fast‑paced, 24/7 business environment.
Day to Day:
• Set up and administer basic leave of absence cases, including identifying leave types and guiding employees through the process before, during, and after leave
• Monitor and manage a high‑volume shared Outlook inbox (2,000–3,000 emails weekly), responding to employee inquiries with timely, clear communication
• Open, track, and maintain 50–70 new leave cases per week, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the leave lifecycle
• Execute daily tasks generated by the LOA system, prioritizing work in a fast‑paced, task‑driven environment
• Communicate with employees via email and phone to answer questions, resolve issues, and escalate complex cases as needed
• Maintain organized case documentation while partnering with HR and compliance teams to support front‑line leave administration

Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves:
- 1-2 years of administrative leave or absence experience
- Expert in Outlook (calendar management, badge access, training, standard communications, search historically, shared inbox)
○ get anywhere from 2,000 to 3,000 emails a week helping navigating that
Communication skills written and verbal and experience in a high volume environment
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses:
- Familiarity with software such as Kronos, AbsenceSoft, or ACT
