Job Description

The Senior Construction Superintendent primary role will be to manage the construction of new restaurants and major remodel projects for Company while being a liaison from contractor and Company. Supervising the field construction of a project and completing the work on schedule, within the budget and to the quality of workmanship specified. We believe in putting quality over quantity, teamwork over individuals and safety over speed to gain total satisfaction in a job well done.

The role will collaborate directly with the Director of Construction to plan, execute, and finalize projects. This includes coordinating with team members, design consultants, landlords, building departments, contractors/vendors to complete projects according to plan. This position will participate in many aspects of the bid/estimating process, including review of plans and specs, soliciting, and negotiating prices with subcontractors/suppliers, quantity take-off, pricing, scope of work, and budgeting. This role will collaborate closely with internal teams as well as external suppliers, owners, architects, and engineers.
National Travel is required for this position: Up to 70% Travel
Essential Duties:
Become familiar with plans, specifications, site, local codes, local officials, and inspection procedures.
Provide input into preparing hard cost estimates and project budgets.
Assist in developing the projects scope of work and specifications.
Assist in developing the project schedule
Create and maintain project documents and records, including project directory, contractor and subcontractor directory, submittal logs, RFI logs, and fill out weekly reports.
Schedule all company employees, subcontractors and deliveries as needed to not adversely impact the project schedule.
Preparing Construction Phase scheduling and periodic updates.
Schedule and attend all required inspections.
Complete and submit all paperwork as required.
Establish and maintain benchmarks and reference points for ongoing layout of work.
Work with the owner, owners rep, architect, and subcontractors to resolve any conflicts.
Communicate, implement, and enforce company safety policy as it pertains to assigned project. Facilitate weekly safety meetings at job site.
Attend job meetings and/or any other meetings as may be required for the successful and timely completion of the project.
Provide project status updates on a weekly basis.
Attend walk through at job completion to ascertain punch list.
Execute punch list in a timely manner and obtain all necessary signed acknowledgments.
Close out field office and project as necessary
Special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined.

Skills:
Ability to manage multiple projects of various sizes, complexity and stages of development, construction, and renovation.
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding deadlines.
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
Experience both in union and non-union environments.
Strong time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Organization for day-to-day and long-term planning and execution, and to track and maintain complex schedules effectively.
Experience in ground-up construction, renovations, with an emphasis on restaurants/retail development.
Experience in computer technology

Strong attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively delegate and negotiate.
Excellent organizational skills
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations. OSHAA certifications.
National travel will be required at times.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
5 years experience of construction management
Restaurant Experience
Experience in Project Due Diligence
Knowledge in Construction Estimating, Word, Excel, Project Management software
Must live in Ohio
