Job Description

This role will be filled by an individual with strong plant experience to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting regulations, and drive financial performance at our manufacturing facility. This role combines the responsibilities of financial management and accounting oversight and will work hand in hand with Operational and Value Stream leaders to support our growth initiatives and optimize operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
o Monthly Close - Oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely. Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary financial information and assist in closing entries.
o Financial Reporting and Analysis - Working closely with the Business Unit Finance team to provide in-depth financial analysis and reporting to senior management, identifying trends and insights that impact the plants financial health. Evaluate plant performance against established KPIs, providing actionable recommendations to improve financial results.
o Budgeting and Forecasting - Lead the preparation of the annual budget, working closely with department heads to develop departmental budgets aligned with organizational objectives. Continuously monitor performance against budget and forecasts, adjusting plans as necessary based on operational performance and market conditions.
o Cost Management and Control - Analyze costs related to production, labor, materials, and overhead, identifying areas for cost reduction and enhancing overall operational efficiency. Develop and maintain accurate cost accounting systems, ensuring precision in product costing and profitability analysis.
o Financial Compliance and Controls - Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations, as well as adherence to internal policies and controls. Conduct periodic audits of financial transactions and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance, implementing corrective measures when necessary.
o Inventory Management - Manage and oversee inventory processes, including valuation, reconciliation, and reporting. Conduct regular inventory reviews to ensure accuracy and optimize inventory levels, preventing excess and shortages.
o Stakeholder Communication - Serve as the primary point of contact for all financial matters related to the plant, effectively communicating with corporate finance and operational teams. Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for business improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

o Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
o Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance and accounting roles, with a significant manufacturing or industrial environment experience
o Strong cost accounting knowledge and understanding of principles
o Knows the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
o High-level accounting skills
o Attention to detail & accuracy
o Deep analytical thinking skills for solving difficult problems

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

o Master's degree a plus
o CPA or CMA certification a plus
o Excellent written and verbal communication skill
