Job Description

We're looking for a motivated, hands-on Junior System Administrator / Infrastructure Support Engineer to support day-to-day infrastructure operations across a predominantly Windows-based environment. This role will work closely with a Senior System Administrator / Team Lead, gaining exposure across servers, virtualization, backups, endpoints, and basic networking.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1-3 years of IT experience or a recent graduate with a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration, or a related field who is looking to build a career in infrastructure and systems administration. We are open to candidates who bring strong technical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and hands-on experience gained through internships, labs, projects, or entry-level IT roles.

Infrastructure & Systems Support
- Support day-to-day administration of Windows Server environments
- Assist with Active Directory user, group, and GPO management
- Perform routine server tasks including patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Support virtualized environments (Hyper-V and/or VMware)
- Assist with backup operations using tools such as Veeam, including monitoring job success and assisting with restores
- Help maintain endpoint environments, including Windows 11 desktops and basic macOS administration
- Support endpoint and device management activities (imaging, provisioning, troubleshooting)

Networking & Connectivity (Secondary Support)
- Provide basic support for routing and switching, Wi-Fi connectivity, and VPN issues (with guidance from senior team members)
- Escalate complex network or firewall issues while supporting diagnostics and documentation

Required Skills & Experience

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 0-3 years of experience in IT support, infrastructure, system administration, or a related area
- Recent graduates with relevant coursework, internships, home labs, certifications, or technical projects are encouraged to apply
- Basic understanding of Windows Server administration concepts
- Familiarity with Active Directory, virtualization (Hyper-V or VMware), and backup/recovery concepts
- Experience supporting Windows 10/11 endpoints through work, internships, school projects, or personal lab environments
- Foundational understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, switching, routing, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi
- Exposure to Microsoft technologies is preferred
- Experience in Service Desk, Desktop Support, IT Intern, or Junior Infrastructure roles is beneficial
- Strong desire to grow into infrastructure and systems administration
- Comfortable learning in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
