Job Description

An employer is looking for a mid-level Web SDET for a remote, contract opportunity with possible hire. The client is an enterprise grocery store chain and the SDET will be supporting the customer technology space, specifically supporting a project around multi-step coupon creation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, quality assurance principles, and extensive experience in testing web applications. As a member of our Quality Assurance team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests to ensure the reliability and performance of our web-based products.



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and quality assurance engineers to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive test plans.



Design and develop automated test scripts using Playwright to validate the functionality, performance, and security of web applications.



Implement and maintain test frameworks, libraries, and tools to streamline the testing process and improve efficiency.



Execute test cases, analyze test results, and report defects using appropriate bug tracking tools.



Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and daily stand-up meetings to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.



Identify opportunities for test automation and work towards achieving a high level of test coverage across all layers of the application.



Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in web testing and automation.

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of experience in software development and quality assurance, with a focus on web testing.



Strong proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.



Hands-on experience with test automation tools like Selenium or Puppeteer.



Strong experience with Playwright



Solid understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and HTTP protocols.



Experience in testing web services, APIs, and microservices architecture.



Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.



Strong communication and collaboration abilities with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.



Self-motivated with a passion for learning and continuous improvement

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.



Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.



Knowledge of additional testing frameworks and tools such as Jest, Mocha, or Chai.



Previous experience in performance testing and security testing of web applications.
