Job Description
A large financial organization is seeking a Remote SRE for a contract opportunity through the end of the year. This position can sit remotely, but must be able to work EST.
This individual will be brought on to automate tasks, monitor system health, manage incidents, and ensure systems meet reliability targets like uptime and performance for the company’s embedded payment processing solution.
Key responsibilities:
• Build and maintain the production infrastructure and services.
• Ensure proper security for the infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot production issues.
• Develop/maintain processes, tools, and documentation in support of production.
• Participate in the evaluation of new software, hardware, and infrastructure solutions.
• Experience as a er working with large distributed systems
• Experience with a variety of scripting languages for automating tasks, generating reports, and creating tools (e.g. Go, Java, Python, Perl, Shell)
• Experience with a continuous integration and delivery model of deploying software
• Automation skills with Chef, Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack or similar
• Experience with one or more of the following: PHP, Go, Python, Scala, Ruby, Javascript, Memcached, LAMP, nginx, node.js, nosql, Varnish
• Working knowledge of software development methodologies including code profiling, regression testing, continuous integration and push button deployments
• Experience as either a LAMP stack software developer and/or systems administrator/systems engineer
• Experience with high-availability, high-performance, open source web technologies
• Experience with cloud platforms, open source databases and caching layers
• Automates all infrastructure build out in AWS utilizing Ansible, Packer, and Terraform
• Distributed Systems, DFS, Kubernetes (k8s), Sarm, Mesosphere, Docker, Services Discovery, Container Orchestration, DFW, Apache, SPark, Hadoop, CLI, API, DevOps, Consul, vault, and microservice.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of SRE
• Must come from a software development background - Java/Go/Python or Ruby
• AWS (multi-region, scaling, DR)
• Terraform or similar automation tooling (ci/cd, release validation)
• Dynatrace (for monitoring) AND Splunk (for logging)
• Distributed System Design
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience working with RTP (real time payments) OR Building services/ scaling payment services
• Familiarity with SLAs, SLIs, SLOs
• Grafana
• Snowflake
• FedNow experience
• Stablecoins (crypto) experience
