A client in the Cincinnati, OH area is looking for a Director of SEO to join their team for an onsite opportunity. The client is seeking a strategic, data-driven Director of SEO to lead their organic search efforts across a single website featuring hundreds of local market landing pages. This role will partner closely with external SEO/AI agencies and internal web development teams to plan, execute, and optimize strategies that drive local visibility and traffic growth. The ideal candidate brings over five years of experience leading SEO efforts, with a strong track record of guiding agency partners toward measurable results, managing at scale, and incorporating modern approaches including AI/LLM optimization for enhanced search discoverability.
Own the development and execution of SEO strategy focused on optimizing local landing pages within a single, scalable website.
Work in close partnership with SEO and AI agencies, ensuring strategy execution is aligned with performance targets and best practices.
Provide hands-on guidance and accountability for agency partners, helping them prioritize initiatives that lead to tangible growth.
Optimize on-page, off-page, and technical SEO across hundreds of local market pages, collaborating with internal developers for seamless implementation.
Manage and optimize Google Business Profiles at scale, driving engagement and visibility in local SERPs.
Conduct ongoing audits, keyword research, competitor analyses, and content recommendations tailored to local service areas.
Collaborate with content, product, and engineering teams to integrate SEO and local schema best practices into all site updates.
Monitor performance using tools like GA4, Google Search Console, SEMrush, BrightLocal, and others to drive data-informed decisions.
AI & Emerging Search Responsibilities:
Lead efforts to optimize website content and structure for discovery within LLM-based environments (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini).
Partner with agencies and internal teams to ensure the site is referenced or cited in AI-generated responses, particularly for plumbing, water damage repair, and emergency services.
Identify opportunities to integrate AI-driven strategies (e.g., structured data, citations, prompt engineering) to increase visibility in conversational search.

5+ years of SEO experience, including leadership roles and agency/vendor oversight.
Proven success managing SEO strategy across a large site with local landing pages.
Experience optimizing Google Business Profiles at scale.
Deep understanding of local SEO, technical SEO, structured data, and mobile-first design.
Proficiency with SEO and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, GSC, SEMrush, BrightLocal).
Experience in home services, real estate, healthcare, or similar multi-location service industries.
Demonstrated ability to drive accountability and results through external agency partnerships.
Experience working in startups or agencies focused on emerging SEO/AI strategies.
Familiarity with LLM optimization techniques, prompt engineering, and discoverability strategies in AI-generated content.
