An employer is seeking an experienced Cloud FinOps Engineer to join the team and identify opportunities to optimize cloud usage and spending. This role inovlves managing budget and spend forecasts, identifying variances, and collaborating with product teams to optimize costs.
Develop and maintain cost forecasts or cloud platforms
Track cloud spend against budgeted numbers
Identify variances in spend, determine root cause, identify and coordinate corrective measures
Track chargebacks and/or licensing costs for enterprise or shared services
Cost savings - identify opportunities, initiate efforts, and track realized
Provide reporting on applications and team level costs
Investigate and provide cloud cost estimates to product teams
Establish policies for cloud cost management and governance

3+ years in a Cloud FinOps role Knowledge of public Cloud Operating Mode, Well Architected Frameworks, Observability tool
Basic knowledge of Azure and GCP cloud administration
Proven experience in generalized financial reporting and analysis
Effective communicator with strong vocabulary in cloud and software engineering, financial planning and investment, resource and capacity management, performance and analysis
Experience in cloud financial platform tools such as Cloudability (or similar)
Local to Cincinnati and willing to come onsite
