Job Description
We are seeking a skilled API Developer with hands-on experience in Google Apigee Edge to join our global digital team. This role will focus on designing, securing, deploying, and maintaining APIs that power Eaton’s enterprise applications and integrations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in API development, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native tools.
Key Responsibilities
Build and deploy API proxies and policies using Google Apigee Edge.
Implement API security protocols including OAuth2.0, API Key, and JWT.
Integrate APIs with Kafka topics for real-time, event-driven messaging.
Use Jenkins for CI/CD automation and maintain code quality standards.
Monitor API performance and troubleshoot issues using GCP Stackdriver.
Publish APIs to the developer portal and support client onboarding.
Maintain proxy mapping documentation and participate in governance sessions.

Required Skills & Experience
4–7 years of experience in API development, including 1+ years with Apigee.
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON/XML, and API security best practices.
Experience with Kafka, Jenkins, GitHub, and Stackdriver.
Familiarity with event-driven architecture and microservices.
Preferred Qualifications
Apigee certification.
Experience with Apigee Hybrid on AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) or GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine).
