Job Description

We are seeking an experienced QA Lead to lead quality assurance efforts across modernized and legacy web applications. This role is responsible for defining and executing comprehensive test strategies, driving automation and accessibility testing, and ensuring high confidence software releases. The QA Lead will work closely with developers, product and delivery teams, and business stakeholders to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle while continuously improving testing practices and processes.

Responsibilities
Lead the QA practice for the team, ensuring strong quality processes, test coverage, and release confidence across new and legacy systems
Collaborate with developers, delivery leads, product managers, and business stakeholders to define and execute effective test strategies
Own the design, development, and maintenance of automated UI tests using the project’s UI testing framework
Oversee API testing for new and legacy integrations, ensuring all features, data flows, and business processes function as expected
Plan and manage regression, integration, system, and UAT testing cycles
Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects
Champion best practices in test automation, accessibility testing, test data management, and continuous improvement
Support the delivery pipeline by integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
Log all identified defects in Jira, following best practices
Lead defect triage sessions and conduct root cause analysis
Provide guidance on the quality of pending software releases, including go/no‑go recommendations
Communicate risks, issues, and quality status to project leadership
Mentor and support peers and developers in quality practices
Prepare and deliver QA materials for internal updates, reviews, and approvals

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a QA Lead on web application delivery (ASP.NET preferred)
Strong hands-on experience creating automated UI tests with Playwright
Experience with automated accessibility testing, targeting WCAG 2.2 AA
Solid proficiency with MS SQL Server for testing and validation activities
Experience with API testing (e.g., Postman)
Demonstrated experience creating test strategies, test plans, and test cases
Experience managing test environments, including configurations and test data
Strong defect documentation, tracking, and lifecycle management skills (Jira)
Experience tracking and reporting on quality and defect metrics
Strong understanding of and experience working in Agile methodologies
Ability to lead defect triage, root cause analysis, and drive timely resolution
Excellent communication skills with the ability to escalate risks and issues effectively

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred)
Experience testing both modernized and legacy systems
Familiarity with accessibility standards and compliance beyond WCAG basics
Experience mentoring developers or QA peers on quality engineering practices
Experience documenting and standardizing QA best practices
