Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Offshore Support Specialist to join a leading marine technology company in Dartmouth, NS or Mount Pearl, NL. This role involves direct engagement with customers, hands-on equipment management, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure the successful deployment, operation, and maintenance of products.
This role is hybrid 3x week onsite with travel offshore to clients vessels up to 50 days a year, as well as additional nearshore (harbour) on-vessel support.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Operations:
- Lead field teams in executing scheduled maintenance and corrective service calls.
- Conduct product demonstrations, including installation, operation, and mission execution.
- Serve as an onsite/onboard Subject Matter Expert (SME) for products
- Manage system installations, commissioning, sea acceptance testing, and customer onboarding.
- Deliver certified training programs to customers and internal staff.
- Identify customer needs and support business development through upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
- Prepare and present daily progress reports, service documentation, and debriefs.
Workshop/Office Support:
- Provide remote technical support including troubleshooting and repair guidance.
- Maintain assets and prepare deployment kits.
- Contribute to Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) documentation and updates.
- Assist project managers with planning scopes of work and resource requirements.
- Support development of product maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Update and review training materials; deliver training courses onsite and offsite.
- Assist in technical writing and review of product manuals and work instructions.

- Degree or diploma in Underwater Vehicles, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 6-8 years of experience in marine technology or defense sectors, with a focus on subsea systems.
- Proven customer-facing experience and strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in networking, communication protocols, and software architectures.
- Hands-on expertise with electronic, hydraulic, fiber-optic, and mechanical systems.
- Skilled in using and maintaining electronic test equipment and hand tools.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Knowledge of offshore and workshop safety practices.
- Capable of working independently and leading field teams.
- Offshore and industrial safety certifications.
- Ability to create and annotate technical drawings (electrical, electronic, mechanical).
