Job Description
The Senior Field Superintendent provides on‑site owner representation for large‑scale data center construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing daily construction activities, ensuring quality, safety, schedule adherence, and coordination across general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, utilities, and local authorities. The Superintendent reports to the Campus Project Director and serves as the primary field‑level construction authority.
This role may emphasize Electrical or Mechanical scope, depending on qualifications and project needs.
Project Types

Expansion of existing data center campuses
Retrofit and upgrade of critical infrastructure
Large customer fit‑outs and occupancy readiness projects
Key Responsibilities
Site Leadership & Construction Oversight
Maintain consistent on‑site presence to monitor construction execution, schedule, and quality
Serve as owner’s on‑site construction SME and primary liaison with the GC
Participate in key construction meetings (OAC, subcontractor coordination, pull planning, BIM/VDC, RFI/submittals)
Track progress against milestones; identify and communicate schedule risks and impacts
Address and resolve on‑site conflicts; escalate issues as needed
Procurement & OFCI Management
Manage site logistics and intake for owner‑furnished equipment (OFCI)
Ensure proper documentation, inspection, and tracking of all owner‑furnished materials
Coordinate with project management on submittal approvals and delivery timing
Quality Control & QA/QC
Oversee on‑site quality control processes and job documentation (including site photography)
Enforce construction best practices for mission‑critical environments
Drive punch‑list closure and readiness for turnover to Operations
Review and manage specialty testing and inspection providers
Track quality metrics and implement corrective actions as needed
Safety, Security & Compliance
Partner with field safety teams to uphold site‑specific EH&S requirements
Ensure GC compliance with approved safety and site security plans
Promote a clean, safe, and controlled jobsite environment
Reporting & Change Management
Provide clear, concise construction status reports (schedule, risk, mitigation)
Support review of change orders, pay applications, and cost control efforts
Commissioning & Turnover Support
Support commissioning and integrated systems testing in coordination with engineering and Cx teams
Lead closeout and turnover activities, ensuring complete and accurate documentation for Operations

Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of experience in commercial, industrial, or mission‑critical construction
Strong data center or critical infrastructure construction experience preferred
Electrical or Mechanical construction expertise
Deep understanding of construction sequencing, QA/QC, and jobsite logistics
OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain)
Experience working with CPM schedules
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management tools

Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical and operational issues
Proven leadership presence and ability to foster team morale
Strong understanding of building systems and mission‑critical construction processes
Experience with cost estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and schedule management
Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
Self‑starter with the ability to work independently in dynamic construction environments
Strong work ethic and collaborative mindset
