Job Description
One of our largest pharmaceutical customers is seeing a Process Maintenance Technician to join their team in Durham, NC. The Maintenance Technician provides frontline maintenance and technical support for parenteral process equipment, including filling lines and associated support systems. This role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to ensure equipment remains in a qualified, safe, and reliable state while meeting cGMP, safety, and quality requirements.
Responsibilities:
Perform corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance on manufacturing process equipment, including filling lines and supporting systems
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, automation, and instrumentation issues impacting production
Ensure equipment is maintained in a qualified and validated state in compliance with cGMPs, safety standards, and site procedures
Provide frontline technical support to operations to minimize downtime and maintain consistent, high‑quality production
Execute and document maintenance activities accurately using a CMMS (e.g., Maximo or similar systems)
Support equipment maintenance strategy development, reliability initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts within operations
Partner with Engineering and Operations on equipment improvements, troubleshooting efforts, and commissioning/qualification activities for systems
Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability, and safety using maintenance history and performance data
Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams while demonstrating strong customer service to manufacturing partners

Required Skills & Experience
High school diploma or GED
Experience maintaining industrial or pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment
Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
Experience working within regulated manufacturing environments and following detailed procedures
Basic computer skills and experience using CMMS systems
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Associate’s degree or technical certification in Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline
Experience supporting filling equipment or aseptic processing systems
Familiarity with PLC‑controlled equipment, automation systems, or distributed control systems (DCS)
Prior experience supporting equipment commissioning, qualification, or validation activities in a cGMP environment
