Job Description
Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex
system components.
• Complete complex bug fixes.
• Work closely with other development team members to understand complex product
requirements and translate them into software designs.
• Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code
reviews.
• Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while
collaborating with key stakeholders.
• Resolve complex technical issues as necessary.
• Train entry-level software engineers as directed by department management,
ensuring they are knowledgeable in critical aspects of their roles.
• Keep abreast of new technology developments. Design and work with complex data
models.
• Mentor less-senior software developers on development methodologies and
optimization techniques.

Required Skills & Experience
. XSLT expertise
• Must be able to read, write, and reason about complex XSLT.
• XSLT 1.0 only = hard no.
• XSLT 2.0 minimum; 3.0 strongly preferred.
• Needs to be productive quickly—team codebase is very advanced.
2. Real XML transformation experience
• Not “touched it once.”
• Needs years of hands-on transformation work.
3. Accessibility expertise
• Must be deep, not surface-level.
• Looking for someone who spent years dedicated to accessibility, not someone who “has some exposure.”
4. Remote self-sufficiency
• Must speak up, ask questions, participate without being prompted.
• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience
• BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• PDF parsing / PDF feature detection
• AI/LLM modeling or applied AI experience
• Agentic architectures
• Python (used, but not a requirement)
• Ability to collaborate with data science teams and understand their outputs
