Job Description
Perform sophisticated transformer field service operations that require strong technical skills. Including fix and repair transformer equipment, applying own knowledge and experience to resolve problems or recommend changes or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
Serve as expert level in rigging, re-gasketing, cutting new gaskets/O-rings, vacuum/oil processing, and all tasks related to transformer service work.
Performs work to required Quality Assurance (QA) specification including vacuum, oil logs, and job walkdown for issues prior to project completion.
Assist Crew Lead or Transformer Resource Manager with the planning of field service project set-up, resource requirements, coordination of equipment and vendors, including personal lodging and travel, scheduling of heavy equipment, tankers, test equipment, etc. Will also assist in gathering data and preparing field service job reports and non-conformance reports and to record and compile data for analysis.
Maintain safe operating condition of vehicles, tools, & equipment, including conducting detailed inventories & inspections to resolve maintenance & repairs. Perform repairs & maintenance per maintenance schedule

Required Skills & Experience
Expert level skill in one or more of: Distribution, Power, and Transmission electrical substation equipment in power ranges of low-voltage (4160V – 13kV), medium-voltage (13kV – 69kV) or high-voltage (69kV – 800 kV). Electro-mechanical skills in the safe and accurate assembly and maintenance of power and distribution transformers and transformer accessories
Perform transformer receipt inspections, control wiring, trouble shooting
Comprehensive skills to interpret the scope of work, assembly, general arrangement drawings, electrical prints, and one-line diagrams as well as test data and factory instruction manuals
Implementation of accurate operation of transformer oil processing, including vacuum, oil filling, and circulating and draining oil-filled transformers along with complete documentation of the process as the need arises
Lead and perform service maintenance of company vehicles, oil processing equipment, generators, and test equipment. Maintaining Class A CDL requirements as described in contract section 9.09 article c) qualifies for a yearly bonus.
