Job Description

Job Summary
The Substation Project Procurement Manager plays a critical role in ensuring successful project execution by overseeing all procurement activities for multiple substation projects. Acting as the main point of contact between internal teams and external suppliers, this position drives procurement strategies, optimizes workflows, and ensures compliance with sourcing processes. The role requires strong organizational skills, stakeholder management, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives while delivering cost savings and value through strategic sourcing.

Key Responsibilities
• Participate in project and sales meetings as a core team member to shape strategies early and optimize internal workflows.
• Coordinate all procurement resources and activities across assigned projects.
• Ensure adherence to sourcing and procurement processes.
• Analyze customer inquiries during bid preparation and understand functional needs to incorporate supplier innovations.
• Support project cost calculations with accurate material cost data.
• Review scope of supply and contract agreements; provide negotiation recommendations.
• Drive and implement procurement strategies within projects.
• Support commodity managers and specialist buyers in contractual and price negotiations.
• Serve as the primary contact between procurement and other stakeholders (engineering, tender management, project management).
• Oversee procurement for 5–6 concurrent projects, managing 6–7 commodities per project.
• Coordinate supplier installation and performance.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in project management and procurement.
• Previous experience working on large scale commercial or civil construction projects
• Proven experience in commodity or supply chain management and contract management.
• Strong track record of delivering cost savings and value through strategic sourcing.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Skilled in market intelligence and supplier performance evaluation.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Background in commercial construction or energy industry.
• Legal knowledge related to contracts and negotiations.
• Negotiation experience with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Project management experience (3–5 years preferred).
• Experience coordinating multiple commodity managers.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative personality.
