Job Summary
The Team Lead – Procurement will lead procurement and sourcing activities for large-scale transmission and substation projects across North America. This role combines hands-on project procurement execution with team leadership, supplier strategy, commercial negotiations, risk management, and stakeholder coordination. The position is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, mitigating supply chain risks, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with business and project requirements.
Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement professionals supporting complex transmission and substation projects.
• Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including sourcing strategy, supplier selection, commercial evaluations, contract awards, and procurement execution.
• Partner with Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Logistics, and Finance teams to support successful project delivery.
• Lead supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing, favorable commercial terms, delivery commitments, and balanced risk allocation.
• Assess supplier capabilities, capacity, financial stability, and overall risk to support sourcing decisions.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality, contractual, and commercial issues throughout project execution.
• Identify and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks while driving cost savings and spend optimization initiatives.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for supplier and procurement-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance standards, internal controls, and quality requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes, reporting, supplier management, and team performance.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, commodity management, or project procurement experience.
○ Master's degree with 6+ years of experience also considered.
• Previous leadership experience managing or mentoring procurement/sourcing teams.
• Experience developing sourcing strategies and supporting large, complex projects.
• Strong background in supplier negotiations, contract management, and commercial risk assessment.
• Experience evaluating supplier performance, financial stability, and supply chain risk.
• Strong financial and analytical skills, including cost analysis and pricing evaluation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience supporting transmission, substation, utility, switchgear, transformer, EPC, or other large capital infrastructure projects.
• Experience using SAP or other ERP/procurement systems.
• Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, APICS, PMP, or equivalent.
• Advanced degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
