Principal Security Engineer

We are seeking a Principal Security Engineer to join a highly collaborative and globally distributed security team. This individual will play a key role in leading incident response efforts, proactively identifying emerging threats, and strengthening security across a cloud-first (AWS) environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and support incident response efforts across the organization
• Investigate complex security events with a strong analytical and investigative mindset
• Identify root causes and proactively determine where to look next in threat scenarios
• Secure and monitor a hybrid/cloud-based infrastructure (AWS-heavy)
• Stay ahead of emerging threats, including those involving AI and machine learning
• Contribute to and enhance security best practices and processes
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers on the team

• 8-10+ years of experience in cybersecurity or security engineering
• Proven experience in incident response within a commercial enterprise environment
• Strong troubleshooting and investigative mindset
• Experience working in cloud environments, preferably AWS
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership in ambiguous situations

• Exposure to AI-driven security tools and/or detecting AI-based threats
• Experience working with globally distributed teams
• Certifications: GCIH, GCFA, or similar IR/Forensics certs
• Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience with SOAR/automation and scripting (Python/PowerShell)
• Background improving detection quality (signal-to-noise, tuning, enrichment)
