The Disaster Recovery Engineer is a key member of the Disaster Recovery (DR) team supporting the enterprise-wide DR program in a rapidly fast-growing financial organization. Will be responsible for providing active support to business units in conducting disaster recovery actives and providing guidance for improved resiliency . To be successful in this role, the Disaster Recovery Engineer must be passionate about business resilience and driven to achieve the desired program goals.
o bachelor's degree in business or computer related field
o 3-5 years of experience in a disaster recovery/business continuity/risk management environment
o Ability to articulate disaster recovery, business continuity concepts and methodology
o Excellent technical. organizational, analytical, verbal, written and presentation communication skills
o Business continuity, disaster recovery certification preferred (DRII, BCI)
o Provide guidance to ensure recover procedures are sufficiently detailed in plans.
o Supervise Key Performance Indicators and report metrics through high transparency dashboards and scorecards.
o Analyze complicated data, identify, and track gaps across different areas of the bank.
o Keep up with increased regulatory scrutiny and expectation of a large financial institution. Assist with audits and implement management actions plans.
o Implement the Disaster Recovery roadmap, working directly with business units to enhance their disaster recovery planning and improve overall resiliency.
o Planning, facilitating, and reporting on disaster recovery exercises to validate exercise outcomes meet recovery objectives and actions follow-up.
