Job Description

The Field Engineer is part of the project management team responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and according to plans and specifications. This involves a range of tasks, including project planning, resource management, quality control, and communication with stakeholders. Site Engineers work on the project site(s) they are supporting.

○ Review project plans and specifications to understand requirements, analyze drawings and technical documents, and identify potential issues early.
○ Conduct site surveys and assessments to evaluate existing conditions, identify hazards, and confirm site readiness for construction.
Prepare and maintain accurate site reports and documentation covering daily activities, progress, and any issues encountered.
○ Oversee construction activities to ensure subcontractors and crews follow project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
○ Support monitoring of project schedules and budgets as construction phases progress.
○ Manage resources by tracking delivery and use of materials and equipment, coordinating with materials management to organize received items.
○ Ensure quality control by inspecting work in progress, verifying completion of QA/QC checklists and reports, and collecting as‑built redlines and construction progress photos.
Troubleshoot field issues by addressing technical challenges, design changes, and other problems, serving as a liaison between construction teams and engineering resources when escalation is needed.

Required Skills & Experience

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Six months to one year of construction experience preferred.
