Job Description

As a Critical Facilities Technician, your daily work will focus on the mechanical and electrical infrastructure that supports the banks critical operations. This is a hands-on role requiring a blend of mechanical skill, electrical knowledge, and operational awareness. Responsibilities include:
Conducting routine facility rounds to inspect and verify the performance of mechanical systems such as:
Air-cooled chillers
CRAH and CRAC units
Water systems and pumps
Monitoring and responding to alerts from the Building Automation System (BAS)
Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems
Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with motors, valves, sensors, and other mechanical components
Executing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
Documenting all maintenance activities, system readings, and incidents in shift logs
Participating in structured shift turnovers
Escorting and overseeing third-party vendors or contractors
Supporting emergency response protocols
Rotating to the Durham site bi-weekly (post-onboarding)

Key Responsibilities
Operate, monitor, and maintain critical facility systems including:
Air-cooled chillers
Water systems
CRAH and CRAC units
Building Automation Systems (BAS)
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems
Troubleshoot equipment issues and respond to alarms or system faults
Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety protocols
Document maintenance activities and system performance
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure uptime and reliability

Required Skills & Experience

Strong mechanical aptitude able to diagnose and repair mechanical systems
Solid understanding of electrical systems comfortable working with power and controls
Detail-oriented thorough in documentation, procedures, and system monitoring
Willingness to learn data center operations and etiquette
Familiarity with LOTO procedures and safety standards

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Prior data center experience is a plus, but not required
