Job Description

Job Summary
The Construction Commodity Manager supports high‑voltage (HV) substation projects by sourcing, negotiating, and managing subcontractor and supplier partnerships across electrical, civil, and building scopes of work. This role partners closely with engineering, project management, and vendors to support accurate cost estimating, competitive proposals, and continuous cost improvement.

Key Responsibilities
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes for HV substation projects, covering electrical installation, civil, and building scopes.
• Negotiate pricing, scope, schedules, and contract terms to align with project and commercial objectives.
• Review RFQ packages from engineering to ensure completeness and readiness prior to release.
• Collaborate with engineering, project teams, vendors, and equipment manufacturers to support detailed cost estimates and proposal development.
• Maintain and grow a national subcontractor and supplier network to support current and future projects.
• Evaluate market conditions, identify cost‑reduction opportunities, and drive supplier‑led savings initiatives.
• Support coordinated bid reviews by validating scope, schedule, and commercial alignment across stakeholders.

Exact breakdown of a CCM Day-to-Day

As bids are received, you follow up with contractors to review scope, pricing, and schedule alignment. Throughout the day, you collaborate with engineering and project teams to incorporate technical input, ensure consistent evaluations, and support informed commercial decisions.
