Job Description

Job Summary
The Commodity Manager is responsible for executing buying strategies and managing procurement activities for critical equipment packages. This role ensures timely delivery of materials, negotiates terms with suppliers, and maintains strong commercial relationships to drive cost savings and value creation. Acting as the liaison between vendors and internal teams, the Commodity Manager plays a key role in sourcing strategies, contract management, and supplier performance oversight.

Key Responsibilities
• Implement buying strategies to secure timely delivery of equipment and materials.
• Serve as the primary liaison between vendors and internal stakeholders, obtaining necessary approvals for purchases.
• Resolve supplier-related issues, including delivery and quality concerns.
• Review and analyze requisitions and supply plans for domestic and international purchases.
• Prepare requests for quotes and assist in developing new supply sources.
• Negotiate prices, terms, and quality requirements with suppliers.
• Evaluate market conditions and solicit cost-reduction ideas from suppliers; follow up to implement savings.
• Manage commercial relationships with key suppliers through visits and regular business reviews (contract status, quality, delivery performance).
• Ensure contractual coverage through negotiating framework agreements and price agreements.
• Take ownership of procurement packages from Project Procurement Manager through issuance of purchase orders.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in supply chain, sourcing, and procurement.
• Strong background in commodity or supply chain management and contract management.
• Proven ability to deliver cost savings and value through strategic sourcing and supplier analysis.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Self-driven and solutions-oriented with strong individual contributor capabilities.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience procuring equipment such as steel and AC/DC panels.
• Familiarity with negotiating terms and conditions with vendors.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships.
• Exposure to project-based procurement environments.
