Job Description
A leading concrete construction company is seeking an Equipment Mechanic to join their Charlotte yard team. This is a full-time, direct placement opportunity with long-term growth potential. The role is primarily in the equipment yard with the occasional need to make runs for parts along other day to day operational tasks.
The mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a range of equipment, from small gas-powered generators to forklifts and water trucks. While some larger equipment may be present, the focus will be on small to mid-sized machinery. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, takes initiative, flexible to wear different hats as needed, and looking for a long-term opportunity.

Required Skills & Experience
1–20 years of hands-on mechanic experience (compensation scales with experience)
Strong background in mechanical diagnostics and repair (not just oil changes—must have turned wrenches)
Experience working in a rental shop or with construction equipment
Comfortable working on a variety of equipment: pickup trucks, portable generators, scissor lifts, forklifts, extended boom forks, and water trucks
Must have own tools (tool allowance provided)
Needs to be flexible to help out on operational tasks that come up on the yard
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Certified welder/welding experience
Experience with rental companies like United Rentals, Sunstate, EquipmentShare, Roadrunner, or Sunbelt
Ability to overhaul components and diagnose mechanical/electrical issues
