Job Description

Role Overview
The Senior Manager, Program Management Office (PMO) for our client is a senior leadership role responsible for driving disciplined execution of New Product Development (NPD), business transformation, and critical cross functional initiatives. This role translates strategy into execution, ensures consistent governance and delivery, and builds a high performing PMO capability that enables faster time to market, predictable launches, and strong cross functional accountability.
Key Responsibilities
PMO Leadership & Governance
• Lead and mature our client’s PMO, setting clear expectations for intake, prioritization, planning, and delivery across NPD and enterprise initiatives.
• Own portfolio governance, including phase gate rigor, executive reviews, and decision transparency.
• Establish and enforce standard tools, templates, and reporting to drive consistency and visibility.
Portfolio & Program Management
• Oversee aspects of our clients project portfolio to ensure alignment to strategic priorities, resource capacity, and launch commitments.
• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, etc… to drive integrated execution.
• Proactively identify delivery risks, resource gaps, and cross functional dependencies, lead mitigation and recovery plans.
NPD & Commercialization Enablement
• Enable disciplined end to end NPD execution, from concept through launch and sustainment.
• Ensure readiness across commercialization elements including manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and go to market timing.
People Leadership
• Lead, coach, and develop PMO team members; build future ready PM talent.
• Foster a culture of ownership, bias for action, and constructive challenge while maintaining strong partnerships.
Executive Communication & Influence
• Provide clear, concise portfolio and program updates to senior leadership, highlighting decisions, risks, and tradeoffs.
• Act as a trusted advisor to business and functional leaders on execution strategy and delivery health.

Required Skills & Experience

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 10+ years of progressive experience in program, project, or portfolio management within complex, cross functional environments.
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA or equivalent preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading PMO organizations or large program portfolios, preferably in consumer, regulated, or manufacturing based businesses.
• Strong understanding of NPD lifecycle management, phase gate governance, and commercialization execution.
• Proven people leadership experience, including hiring, development, and performance management.
• Excellent executive communication skills with the ability to influence without authority.
