Job Description
We are seeking an Assembly Operator III to support fiber optic manufacturing operations. This role involves the assembly, termination, and testing of fiber optic cable and connector products in a cleanroom environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and comfortable working with small, intricate components while maintaining a strong focus on quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble, polish, and test fiber optic cables and connector components
Perform termination of single and multi-fiber cable assemblies
Support prototype builds, test builds, and new product introduction (NPI) activities as needed
Operate equipment including fiber routers and over-molding machinery
Measure components using calipers, gauges, and other tools
Complete required documentation to ensure product traceability
Inspect work using quality standards, work instructions, and technical drawings
Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic repairs
Follow proper cleaning and contamination control procedures for optical assembly
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies
Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and suggest process improvements

Required Skills & Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred
Minimum 2 -5year of manufacturing experience required
Experience in fiber optic manufacturing preferred
Familiarity with SAP manufacturing systems and/or ISO 9001 standards is a plus
Strong hand-eye coordination and ability to work with small, delicate components
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate manufacturing equipment
Ability to read and follow work instructions and technical drawings
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Ability to work in a cleanroom environment with required PPE (gown, gloves, hairnet, safety glasses, etc.)
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (approximately 75% of the time)
Comfortable operating machinery and moving between workstations
