Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Senior Data & Governance Analyst that will play a foundational role in establishing enterprise data governance and analytics practices at one of our logistics company clients. As governance capabilities are in their initial stages, this role will help design, pilot, and grow pragmatic governance approaches that scale over time, balancing structure with business enablement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Help design and implement foundational data governance practices, starting with priority domains and high‑value datasets.
• Partner with emerging Data Owners and Stewards to pilot governance concepts such as data ownership, certification, and data quality definitions.
• Develop, monitor, and enforce formal data governance policies, standards, and procedures enterprise-wide to ensure data integrity, quality, and security.
• Define standards for authoritative sources and certified datasets, evolving them as adoption grows.
• Support the formation and maturation of data governance forums, roles, and decision‑making processes over time.
• Develop a phased governance roadmap, balancing immediate business needs with long‑term enterprise goals.
• Assess current data and analytics practices to identify initial governance focus areas.
• Establish data quality metrics, conduct data quality audits, and lead remediation plans for data issues.
• Collaborate with Data Stewards to document data lineage, maintaining a data catalog, and ensuring metadata quality (e.g. via tools like Microsoft Purview).
• Establish measures for governance adoption (e.g., usage of certified datasets, clarity of ownership, reduction in duplicate reporting).
• Educate technical and business teams on the purpose and value of data governance through workshops, documentation, and real‑world examples.
• Function as a change agent, helping teams adopt governance practices without disrupting delivery.
• Build shared understanding of data definitions, metrics, and certification concepts across the organization.
