Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on, technical ServiceNow SAM Pro consultant to support multiple parallel SAM Pro implementations. This role is delivery-focused and requires proven experience configuring, integrating, and stabilizing SAM Pro in enterprise environments. While deep licensing and SAM program experience is valuable, this position is specifically intended for a technical implementer, not a SAM operations‑only or licensing governance role.
Role Clarity (Important)
This role is not primarily a SAM program lead, licensing-only advisor, or operational SAM analyst position.
The ideal candidate:
Has delivered ServiceNow SAM Pro implementations end to end
Is comfortable working directly in the platform configuring data, rules, jobs, and workflows
Can augment delivery capacity immediately while mentoring junior technical resources
Candidates whose background is limited to SAM operations, vendor negotiations, or licensing management without hands‑on ServiceNow SAM Pro implementation experience will not be a good fit for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and execute hands-on configuration and stabilization of ServiceNow SAM Pro, including discovery ingestion, normalization, reconciliation, and optimization.
Configure and tune software models, normalization rules, and entitlement structures to produce accurate compliance positions.
Implement and support common SAM Pro integrations, including REST‑based and file‑based data sources.
Diagnose and correct inaccurate compliance results by identifying bad data, flawed assumptions, or misconfigured logic.
Clearly explain reconciliation results, licensing outcomes, and compliance drivers to non‑technical stakeholders.
Maintain a configuration‑first mindset, minimizing custom development while maximizing out‑of‑the‑box SAM Pro capabilities.
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior SAM Pro team members during delivery.
Licensing & Publisher Experience (Required in a Technical Context):
Hands‑on SAM Pro implementation experience for Microsoft and Adobe publishers.
Microsoft SAM experience including Windows Server, SQL Server, and Microsoft 365.
Adobe SAM experience with Named User subscriptions and user‑to‑entitlement alignment.
Oracle SAM exposure preferred, including: Processor metrics and core multipliers
Virtualization and host scope risk considerations
Note:
Licensing knowledge must be paired with demonstrated technical implementation experience within ServiceNow SAM Pro.
Technical Platform Experience:
Strong working knowledge of the SAM Pro data model, including Software Installs, Software Models, Entitlements, Hardware Assets, and CMDB relationships.
Proven experience with: Import Sets and Transform Maps
REST and file‑based integrations
Reconciliation jobs and optimization rules
Workflow, Requests & Automation:
Design and configure catalog items for software requests, SaaS access, license allocation, and manual reclaim or refresh signaling.
Build SAM‑aware approval logic that considers entitlement availability, cost center ownership, budget constraints, and exception handling.
Use Flow Designer to orchestrate end‑to‑end workflows including request intake, entitlement assignment, reclaim identification, approvals, and fulfillment.
Configure and extend the SAM Workspace using UI Builder to support operational and stakeholder needs.

Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of hands‑on ServiceNow SAM Pro implementation experience.
Demonstrated experience delivering technical SAM Pro solutions, not just operational or licensing support.
Ability to challenge data quality issues and drive defensible, accurate compliance outcomes.
Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical configuration details and business impact.
