Job Description

An employer in the Charlotte, NC market is looking for a Network Design Engineer to join their team. This person will be responsible for the below:
Coordinating with engineering contractor, not actual engineering
Reviewing projects and designs from the vendor and making sure the projects are being designed properly
Coordinating, if needed, with municipalities on issues
Supporting mostly buried fiber engineering, as well as aerial
Doing small re-designs if needed (but rare)
Coordinate with customers and understand their requirements
Work with General Contractors (GC) and their construction and engineering departments
Read, interpret, analyze, summarize, and discuss telecom drawings with GC OSP engineers
Conduct redlines reviews, approve material orders, and ensure project milestones are met before approval

Required Skills & Experience

8+ years of experience in OSP engineering
Proficiency in OSP Planning, design, and construction methods
Design experience, but not designing unless it's a small correction
Needs to sit local, hybrid deal maybe once a week onsite (WFH more often though)
Self-sufficient and doesn't need lots of direction
Mostly Buried (direct burry into wherever, underground is placing structure underground/permanent) and aerial
Any GIS experience
Familiar with easements and other utilities by natural electric code
Familiarity with how pole agreements work
Understand how to obtain information for properties
Understand where plats need to be located on the poles, etc.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Previous AT&T experience
IQGeo design experience
