Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fiber Optic Auditor to perform field audits of Outside Plant (OSP) fiber infrastructure. The contractor will be responsible for documenting and verifying the placement, condition, and connectivity of fiber optic cables, (buried plant). The role includes inspection of associated network elements such as handholes, manholes, splice cases, and fiber strand usage. Candidates must also have experience with fiber splicing to address any unforeseen issues encountered during field audits.

Required Skills & Experience

3-5+ years of experience working with Outside Plant fiber networks.
Strong understanding of aerial and buried fiber optic cable installations and configurations.
Proficiency in identifying and documenting fiber paths, splicing records, and strand usage.
Hands-on experience with fiber splicing and use of fusion splicing tools.
(optional skill for audits) Familiarity with OTDR, power meters, and other fiber testing equipment.
Ability to be dependent and work independently in various field conditions.
Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Valid drivers license and company vehicle to be provided
Operate a bucket truck and fusion splicer.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with GIS/mapping software or digital field data collection tools.
Previous experience auditing networks for telecom carriers, municipalities, or utility providers.
