Job Description
We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst with a strong application and database background to support vendor-supported financial applications within a regulated banking environment. This role sits firmly on the technical side of the organization and requires someone who is highly proactive, driven, and confident working directly with financial business users to extract requirements and translate them into clear, actionable user stories.
This is not a role focused on changing business processes or solution design. Instead, the ideal candidate excels at asking the right questions, understanding how users get from point A to point B, and accurately giving that information back to technical teams through well-written stories, documentation, and acceptance criteria. Personality, initiative, and communication style are critical to success in this role. Candidates with prior banking experience—especially prior experience at the bank or rehires—are strongly preferred. This role is 3x onsite in Charlotte, NC.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience working on technical teams within banking or financial services
• Proven experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria for applications or database related projects
• Strong business analysis skills: requirements gathering, process mapping, problem-solving
• Experience working directly with financial or business users in complex environments
• SQL knowledge – writing SELECT statements, filtering and pulling data from tables, understanding table relationships (JOIN)
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to lead conversations and ask probing questions
