Job Description

The Building Automation Systems (BAS) Engineering Manager will oversee the design, installation, operation, maintenance, and optimization of building management systems within our data centers. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in BAS, HVAC, electrical systems, and data center operations. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to lead and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
System Management: Oversee the operation and maintenance of the building management systems, including HVAC, electrical, and other critical infrastructure.
Monitoring and Optimization: Continuously monitor system performance and implement optimization strategies to improve efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to BMS, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to data center operations.
Compliance: Ensure all systems comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
Project Management: Lead and manage BAS-related projects, including upgrades, installations, and expansions.
Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely and quality service delivery.
Team Leadership: Provide guidance and training to the facilities team on BAS operations and best practices.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all activities comply with relevant building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of system operations, project progress, and any issues encountered

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in building automation systems, preferably in a data center environment.
5+ years of experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, and data center infrastructure.
Proficiency in BAS software and tools.
Ability to interpret technical documents such as schematics and blueprints.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

15 years of relevant technical experience with Building Automation Systems.
10 years of BMS project management experience.
BMS/EPMS system design and bidding experience.
