Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Azure Cloud Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting Azure-based data services, ensuring adherence to database and storage best practices, and delivering robust operational support for cloud infrastructure and data platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, deploy, and manage Azure data services including Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Optimize data storage, access, and performance across distributed systems.
• Experience of integrating Azure data services with Azure Databricks
• Collaborate with data engineering and application teams to ensure optimal data ingestion, transformation, and storage strategies.
• Database Best Practices:
o Define and enforce standards for database design, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
o Implement backup, recovery, and high availability strategies.
o Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy policies.
• Operational Support:
o Monitor and troubleshoot Azure infrastructure and data services using tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
o Automate routine tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and ARM templates.
o Maintain clear documentation of architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with at least 4 years focused on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong expertise in Azure data services (e.g., Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Data Factory).
• Experience with Azure Databricks Platform is preferred.
• Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python) and automation tools (Terraform, Azure CLI).
• Solid understanding of database administration, performance tuning, and security.
• Advanced proficiency in Terraform, Python, and PowerShell/Bash.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices in cloud environments.
