Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a z/OS Programmer to support the core platform of a large-scale enterprise environment. This individual will be responsible for maintaining system stability, optimizing performance, and ensuring workloads are efficiently distributed across the system. This is a highly operational role focused on real-time system performance, requiring strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to operate effectively during high-pressure production incidents.
Day-to-Day:
• Monitor and maintain z/OS system health and performance
• Analyze system metrics (SMF/RMF) to identify bottlenecks
• Tune workloads using WLM
• Respond to system-level incidents and outages
• Ensure platform stability and reliability under heavy load
Work cross-functionally with DB2 and middleware teams
Pay $70-75/hr

Required Skills & Experience
Must-Haves:
• Strong z/OS systems programming experience
• Hands-on experience with:
○ System performance tuning
○ Capacity management
• Experience with:
○ SMF/RMF analysis
○ System monitoring + diagnostics
• Strong knowledge of WLM (Workload Management)
• Ability to maintain system stability in production environments
Proven experience handling live production issues/outages
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses:
• Experience in large enterprise / regulated environments
• Exposure to DB2, CICS, or MQ interactions
• Automation or scripting experience
Experience optimizing system-wide workload distribution
