Job Description

A large software and gaming company is looking for a REMOTE (EST) Post Production Engineer to join a growing team. This role is focused on architecting, deploying, and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our editorial and finishing pipelines - with a particular focus on Iconik as the archival media asset management platform and LucidLink as the cloud-native file system. This role is critical for ensuring smooth post production workflows across editorial, motion design, versioning and delivery teams. The ideal candidate has a passion for post production, a strong technical foundation, and thrives in fast-paced environments where attention to detail and troubleshooting are critical.
In this role you will
● Provide technical support for editors, motion designers, and other post production staff on a daily basis.
● Create and maintain documentation regarding system access and licensing information needed for production
● Monitor post production systems, servers, and backup storage to ensure stable operation.
● Assist with setting up and maintaining editing bays, suites, and shared storage environments.
● Troubleshoot software, hardware, and network issues quickly and effectively.
● Support asset management workflows and maintain proper file organization and metadata.
● Coordinate with engineering and IT teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.
● Ensure backup, archiving, and delivery processes are executed correctly and on time.
● Maintain documentation for workflows, troubleshooting, and system configurations.
● Occasionally help with transcoding, proxy creation, and media prep for editorial.
● Stay current with new tools, updates, and best practices in post production technology.

Required Skills & Experience

● Bachelor’s degree in Film/TV, Media Production, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
● 7-10 years of experience in post production, media operations, or IT support
● Proficiency with LucidLink Cloud Storage and Iconik MAM and/or other cloud based collaboration tools.
● Familiarity with post production software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, or Pro Tools.
● Basic understanding of media formats, codecs, color spaces, and transcoding workflows.
● Expert knowledge of shared storage systems (SAN, NAS) and asset management tools
● Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive and solutions-driven mindset.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support creative teams.
● Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
● Nice to have: Familiarity with scripting for workflow automation.
● Comfortable wearing multiple hats - equally at ease on the technical and the creative side of the building
● A clear and patient communicator who can translate technical complexity for non-technical stakeholders
● Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership over systems reliability and uptime
● A lover of clean and clear documentation
● Experience with transcoding tools such as Vantage, Telestream Cloud, FFmpeg, or similar
● Solid networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, network storage protocols (SMB, NFS, S3)
● Excellent troubleshooting skills and a methodical, documentation-driven approach

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

● Familiarity with scripting and automation (Python, Bash, or JavaScript/Node.js)
● Knowledge of media codecs, container formats, color science, and HDR standards
● Understanding of SMPTE standards and broadcast delivery specifications
● Prior experience supporting remote or globally distributed post production teams
