Job Description

Essential Responsibilities
• 3D Modeling & Drafting:
o Develop detailed part definitions, modules, and assemblies using 2D cross-sections and 3D solid models.
o Apply tolerance stack-ups and prepare data in various electronic formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
• Data & Systems Management:
o Maintain and update engineering data systems, including Autodesk Vault and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools and other project-related databases.
• Technical Expertise & Problem Solving:
o Apply deep technical knowledge and analytical thinking to execute project policies and strategies.
o Exercise sound judgment to propose creative and effective solutions for complex manufacturing challenges, often outside of standard parameters.
• Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing:
o Mentor and support colleagues by sharing best practices in drafting techniques and 3D parametric modeling.
o Use internal and limited external resources to inform decisions and drive improvements in processes and outcomes.
• Communication & Teamwork:
o Maintain strong, effective communication within a collaborative team environment, contributing to shared goals and mutual success.

Required Skills & Experience

• Associate degree in Engineering, Drafting, Design, or a closely related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of design and drafting experience in heavy industrial, thermal power, nuclear, or similar high-complexity engineering environments.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience using CAD design tools such as AutoCad Electrical and Intergraph Smart Electrical (SPEL or SPI)

Mechanical & Drafting Expertise:
o Advanced mechanical and mechanism design capabilities.
o Skilled in creating detailed technical drawings from 2D and 3D AutoCAD and Inventor parametric solid models.
o Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, fit tolerances, and fundamental mechanical design principles.
