Insight Global is looking for a Transmission Relay Engineer to join the team of one of their largest utility clients in Spring Valley, NY. This role offers a wide range of experiences, from managing small to large projects, providing opportunities for learning and growth. Under the guidance of the Principal Electrical Engineer or the Manager of Transmission and Substation Engineering, the engineer will work on designing and applying utility-grade relay systems for the companys transmission and substation systems. Additionally, the engineer will support various operations groups within the company and represent the company at industry meetings and on committees.
The core responsibilities include ensuring the implementation of safety, health, and environmental programs, adhering to company policies and governmental regulations, and fostering a customer-centric culture. The role involves preparing design sketches, performing relay setting calculations, using system-modeling programs, supporting field personnel, and preparing outage reports. Additionally, the engineer will perform cost estimates, witness tests at manufacturing facilities, participate in meetings and committees, and stay updated on industry developments.
Active participation in the companys Emergency Response Plan and familiarity with relevant standards and requirements are also essential.

- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
- 3-5 years of relay engineering experience
- Ability to run relay projects, approve drawings, and review fault events
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams and apply creative solutions
Proficiency with ASPEN and SEL/GE software
