Job Description
Insight Global is searching for two Energization Marshals to support our client on a data center project in upstate NY.
The Energization Marshal is the designated authority responsible for controlling and coordinating the process of energizing electrical systems and equipment. Their role is to ensure that energization occurs safely, deliberately, and only after all required technical, safety, and procedural conditions are met.
It is primarily a governance and safety role, not necessarily the person physically performing the switching.
Responsibilities include:
- Controls the energization process for major electrical systems (switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, PDUs, bus duct, etc.).
- Verifies readiness prior to energization, including mechanical completion, inspection sign-offs. commissioning readiness, and safety clearances.
- Confirms all stakeholders are aligned, including construction, commissioning, engineering, and operations.
- Authorizes energization events through a formal process.
- Maintains the energization log / register of all live systems.
- Prevents unauthorized energization of equipment or circuits.

Required Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as an Energization Marshal, Energization Authority, Power Marshal, Energization Czar, or another similar role.
- Technical aptitude with major electrical systems such as switchgears, transformers, UPS systems, PDUs, etc.
