Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Network & Hardware Operations
• Diagnose and resolve network hardware and connectivity issues, including switches, routers, firewalls, and related infrastructure
• Replace or assist with replacement of network hardware components under the direction of the CTSS team and equipment suppliers
• Support installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices and cabling
• Coordinate with Technology Engineers and hardware vendors for network-related hardware issues
Network Software & Systems Support
• Assist engineers in diagnosing network-related software and operating system issues
• Support troubleshooting of network services including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory integration, and authentication mechanisms
• Implement approved network and system changes under the guidance of the ICIT team, engineers, and equipment suppliers
• Perform anti-virus, network security, and endpoint protection updates according to established maintenance schedules
• Support operating system and network patching activities with approval from CTSS, System LOB Owners, and equipment suppliers
Security, Compliance, and Monitoring
• Assist engineers with network security compliance activities, including audits and assessments
• Support implementation and documentation of Continuous Monitoring (CM) controls as part of the RMF lifecycle
• Aid in identifying, documenting, and remediating network vulnerabilities
• Ensure network configurations align with security baselines and accreditation requirements
Procurement, Auditing, and Documentation
• Assist engineers with procurement of network hardware and software using internal purchasing processes
• Work with the team to acquire equipment through internal business systems or approved purchasing methods
• Support documentation required for network assessments, audits, and accreditation packages
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and changes
General Network Support & Engineering Assistance
• Provide tiered support for network-related issues affecting systems and users
• Assist engineers with network design and architecture decisions for upgrades or new deployments
• Consult with engineering teams on new networking technologies and implementations
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the customer in support of network operations

$30/hr to $40/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Have:
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance; candidate will be in processed for a DOE Q Clearance (this does not impact the DoD clearance)
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited institution, plus 2+ years of relevant experience
• 2–3 years of hands-on network administration or network operations experience
• Experience supporting and administering Windows-based network environments
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and network authentication services
• Familiarity with enterprise networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and network troubleshooting
Plusses
• Experience supporting Linux-based systems in a networked environment
• Familiarity with network security tools, firewalls, IDS/IPS, or VPN technologies
• Scripting or programming experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.)
• Exposure to RMF, NIST, or DoD network compliance frameworks
