Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an industrial robotics engineer to work with one of our largest energy clients on the advancement of robotics manufacturing technology for industrial domain, ultimately contributing to the Energy Transition by electrifying the world and decarbonizing the energy sector.

As an industrial robotics engineer, you will play a key role in the development and continuous improvement of advanced robotic solutions for the manufacturing footprint. In this role, you will be responsible for defining, developing and evolving robotic solutions for several manufacturing processes (i.e., inspection, material handling, etc. ) using digital vision and robotics. You will be responsible to develop specific applications and tools to support and extend the capabilities of our robotics group, using the latest technologies and standard module programming methodologies. Play an active role in the automation and development of innovative work tools, aimed at optimizing processes and improving operational efficiency. You will provide technical support for existing applications, identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal performance of the various robotic systems. You will develop standard machine vision modules using existing computer vision libraries, to solve industrial inspection and robotic manipulation challenges. Be passionate about robotics, with strong experience in programming and systems architecture, solid experience in machine vision, able to work effectively in a team and motivated by the constant desire to learn and optimize processes through advanced technological solutions. It will be necessary to travel abroad as needed between 10% and 20% of your time.

Pay rate ranges from 50-55/hr based on experience.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, automated production engineering, robotics, computer science or other related specialization
5 to 7 years of relevant experience in building and deploying robotic systems in the context of manufacturing equipment and processes
5+ years of experience in the applied use of machine vision algorithms in industrial environments
Proficiency in robot programming
Proficiency in one or more of these languages: Python/C/C++
Proficiency in one or more of these vision programming environments: Halcon, Cognex
Have experience in the manufacturing sector
Knowledge of Keyence, Cognex, Basler, CCS products.
Knowledge of PLC programming
Experience in selecting components for an industrial vision system (lighting, optics, image sensor)
Experience in the field of image processing applied to the manufacturing sector.
Experience working in automation with FANUC industrial robots

Experience with UR industrial robots,
Experience with factory automation systems
Experience with automating various manufacturing processes
