Insight Global is looking for a talented and experience Technical Design Lead to join the research department of a large ecommerce and wholesale brand, sitting remote in the US. In this position, you will be responsible for leading a team of Tech Designers and overseeing the design and development of new products in the apparel and beauty space. You will collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
In addition to the above, you will be hands-on in creating new products from ideation to post-launch using processes already in place. You will also travel 20-30% of the time to factories in order to assess product samples.
To be successful in this role, it is imperative to have prior technical design experience in the beauty, apparel, or similar space.
General responsibilities:
- Lead a team of tech designers and provide guidance and mentorship
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Design and develop product specifications
- Assess product sample quality using QA processes
- Liaise with factories, creating guidelines to share with factories
- Ideate on new products (sketching, measuring, testing)
