Pay Rate

$68 - $85 (hourly estimate)

Job Description

Support geologic and subsurface investigations for DOE and nuclear-related projects, including SMR site development
Perform and oversee field activities, including drilling support, core logging, soil and rock characterization, and sampling
Sit on the rig and work hands-on with drilling crews and field teams as required
Apply geologic, hydrogeologic, and environmental principles to support site characterization and project decision-making
Prepare and review technical documentation subject to NQA‑1 Quality Assurance requirements
Ensure compliance with NQA‑1, DOE Orders, and applicable regulatory and project-specific QA/QC procedures
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, QA personnel, and client stakeholders
Support audits, surveillances, and documentation reviews related to quality and regulatory compliance
Participate in onsite activities at nuclear or SMR facilities, following safety and access requirements

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years of experience as a Geologist
- NQA-1 regulation experience
- Bachelors Degree
- Strong technical sophistication with the ability to work both independently and in highly regulated team environments
- Proven experience working onsite in the field, including drilling and investigation support
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly to SMR and nuclear sites in the eastern U.S.
- Ability to obtain required clearance

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Professional Geologist (PG) certification
