Insight Global is looking for a Mainframe Developer to join one of our largest financial clients and sit in NY or SLC 5/week on site. This person will be joining the Middle Office Technology Group with Asset Management. This resource will be supporting interrelated systems (COBOL and Java) through their data consumption, transformations, and updates. They will be working on multiple assignments, working on vendor based systems, review requirements, do analysis/look at existing functionality, and look through code to see where enhancements need to be made. This person will need to have majority COBOL experience and an understanding of any OOP or a willingness to learn.
- 7+ years of experience as a Mainframe Developer/Systems Analyst/ Software Engineer/Systems Engineer with the ability to analyze and modify code
- Extensive knowledge of COBOL/COBOL2, DB2, CICS, MQSeries, and batch (quarter of the processing (CICS) is online)
- Java programming abilities
- Extensive knowledge of the SDLC and ability to implement solutions with it
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast paced environment
