Data Scientist (Prompt Engineering)

Insight Global is looking for a Data Scientist to join one of their financial services clients in New York City. The individual will be a part of the credit services team supporting regulatory requirements and will work alongside other SMEs in efforts to create an accelerated AI-based data extraction solution. The individual will be responsible for understanding requirements and writing prompt for data extraction at facility setup and quality monitoring. Additionally, they should be well versed in prompt engineering and knowledgeable about legal contracts in financial services industry. This is 4 days a week onsite in NYC – Tribeca.

Day to Day Responsibilities
•Attend daily scrum meeting to review progress and plan tasks
•Extract data fields from documents one by one
•Apply prompt engineering techniques to optimize model outputs for document generation, data extraction, and customer interaction workflows
•Collaborate with existing team members and Data SMEs as well as cross function teams including lenders, operations, compliance, and IT
•Design, develop and deploy AI/ML and LLM solutions to solve complex business problems
•Build and maintain predictive models for credit risk assessment, loan forecasting, and portfolio optimization
•Conduct model evaluation, validation, and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate model risk

•3+ years' experience as a data scientist within financial services, credit, or lending industry
•Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Finance or related field
•Hands-on experience writing prompt to guide AI models/LLMs
•Strong understanding of loan lifecycles, credit risk models, and regulatory frameworks
•Innovative thinker and ability to coordinate with cross functional teams
