Insight Global is seeking an EHS Specialist for one of our clients in Valhalla, NY. This person will be joining a team of four other people and assist with maintaining safety standards for the plant with the largest chemical inventory in the company. This person will be responsible for maintaining EH&S systems data associated with regulatory compliance, incidents and audits. They will create action plans and compliance tracking to ensure safety. They will assist the team in collection of safety data sheets from vendors, chemical storage and management compliance. This person will perform risk assessment and job hazard analysis, keep record and report chemical purchasing trends, projected needs and related data. Additionally, they will do chemical receiving and stock management and chemical container labeling. They will work with operators to observe safety practices, work on equipment innovation and ensure safety in the plant. This role will be performed 5 days a week on-site and the pay is between 20-35/hr.

1+ years of experience in EHS, chemical, mechanical, supply chain, R&D or related field
Understanding of NFPA/OSHA/GHS classifications and requirements
Knowledge of hazardous chemicals and EHS regulatory requirements
Strong computer skills with MS Office competencies
Bachelor's Degree in science-related field
Experience with database storage and management software (ex. CISPro, SAP, SiteHawk)
Hazardous materials handing experience
Familiarity with portal barcode scanning devices
DOT certification
