Job Description

A major hospital system in New York is undergoing a multi‑phase restructuring effort that includes retiring legacy departments, standing up new functional areas, and re‑evaluating security structures across the Epic ecosystem. They are seeking an experienced Epic Security Analyst who can support security redesign, manage dependencies, and ensure access structures align with new departmental workflows.
Key Responsibilities
• Review, analyze, and update Epic Security components (EMP, SER, Role, Class, Security Class, Subclass).
• Conduct dependency analysis across Epic applications to ensure correct access transitions as legacy departments are replaced.
• Build and modify Security Classes, Roles, and Profiles to support new organizational structures.
• Partner with application teams, clinical leadership, compliance, and IT security to ensure accurate access mapping.
• Perform access audits, remediation, and clean‑up of outdated permissions.
• Support testing cycles for new department builds and validate access requirements.
• Handle day‑to‑day operational requests, troubleshooting, and access configuration.
• Maintain documentation for change tracking and operational continuity.

Required Skills & Experience

• Epic Security certification (Security/IDM strongly preferred).
• 5+ years of Epic Security Analyst experience in a hospital or large healthcare environment.
• Strong experience with SER/Provider build, EMP management, Role/Class/Security Class configuration, and security architecture best practices.
• Proven ability to navigate cross‑team dependencies during organizational restructuring.
• Experience supporting department go‑lives, transitions, or consolidations.
• Ability to interpret operational workflows and translate them into appropriate security structures.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
