Job Description

Insight Global is actively seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join an esteemed women's health network in Manhasset, NY. This role involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring a seamless and positive experience for patients. As the first point of contact, the Patient Access Specialist will provide a warm and welcoming environment, efficiently managing the check-in and check-out processes. They will coordinate and schedule patient appointments, verify insurance information, and review patient records to ensure all necessary documentation is available prior to appointments. Utilizing Athena, the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, the specialist will manage patient information and streamline administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, an engaging and empathetic approach to patient care, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in using EMR systems. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team are essential.

Required Skills & Experience

At least 1 year experience working as a patient access specialist or similar receptionist role
Hands on experience using EMR/EHR System
Experience obtaining prior authorizations
Prior experience verifying insurance
Prior experience handling patient referrals
Proven professional ability to be patient-facing
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19
High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Athena EMR experience
