Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to support the design, documentation, requirements management, integration, troubleshooting, and testing of electronic, mechanical, and software-based systems. This individual will work closely with development engineers to apply engineering processes, recommend resolutions to technical issues, and escalate significant problems to appropriate management when needed.
This role will be responsible for performing detailed experimental, operational, subsystem, and system-level testing, as well as fault isolation on complex systems and equipment. The technician will conduct electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, operate and maintain test and diagnostic equipment, and perform hands-on assembly, repair, calibration, and alignment activities using blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
Additional responsibilities include identifying and repairing hardware defects, building and repairing cables and radio hardware, tracking development assets, supporting field and acceptance testing, and entering configuration-managed items into the division CM system. The individual may also support customer-facing activities such as system acceptance testing or hands-on user training, helping to build strong customer relationships.
The ideal candidate is a senior-level professional with strong technical expertise, broad project management knowledge, and the ability to drive moderate to substantial improvements in systems and processes. This role contributes directly to departmental goals and operational success while working in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.
